Ontario

The training requirements to perform home inspection in Ontario are slightly different from the rest of the country. Attending classes at a Canadian home inspection school is strongly recommended, but not required to perform inspections.

However, there are some caveats.

Only members of the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors (OAHI) may legally advertise themselves as registered home inspectors. However, PHII's Canadian home inspection training course will furnish you with the expertise and knowledge to perform home inspections in Ontario. You may not, however, make reference to the OAHI or use the OAHI letterhead unless you have joined that organization. Joining the OAHI requires, among other things, passing the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors (CAHPI) exam. It is not required to do this unless you wish to join the OAHI - home inspection is legal in Ontario without OAHI membership.

PHII's Canada Home Inspection School course will be an instrumental tool for any home inspector who wishes to sit the OAHI exam, or go into business without that membership.
